What to Expect When You Come in for Your Free Auto Accident Legal Consultation

When we meet to talk about your accident case, I'll take the time to answer all of your questions, and walk you through the entire process, step by step. I'll explain what your rights are as an injured party in an accident.

For example, in a case where an accident is not your fault, my law firm will assert a claim against the insurance company of the car that hit you.

I'll ask you a number of questions about your case, so I can fully understand and assess all the details and issues specific to your case.

I'll ask you if you've had any lost time from work and lost wages due to your injury.

I'll explain how I get paid, and that I will not charge you any money out of pocket. I only get paid if and when you get a settlement.

I'll fully explain how  no-fault PIP Personal Injury Protection works in Massachusetts. PIP cover the first $2000 of medical bills, or up to $8000 if you have MassHealth or are uninsured.

Most importantly, I'll listen to you, and your needs. The better I understand your situation, the better I'll be able to represent your interests.

If you decide to retain me as your attorney, I'll have you sign the following forms:

  • Medical release forms in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountabilty Act - many requirements for privacy of your medical information)

  • Request for a police report if the police were called to the scene of your accident

  • Lost Wage Authorization – form I’ll send to your employer so I can get lost wages for you.

  • Authorization allowing my firm to pay your doctors through Med Pay (PIP).

  • A legal services agreement with my firm, which is how we’ll ultimately get paid.
